Karing is a multi-platform proxy client that supports Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. It features a consistent interface design, so the operation logic remains largely the same across different systems. This tutorial explains the basic usage of the app in the order of download & installation, adding configurations, and connecting for use.
1. Key Features #
On the Karing home screen, commonly used functions are laid out on a single page: traffic statistics (upload/download) at the top, toggle buttons for “Rule” and “Global” proxy modes in the middle, followed by entries for “My Configs”, “Add Config”, “DNS”, “Routing Rules”, “Network Test”, “Quick Links”, and more.

In short, the main advantages of this client include: instant switching between “Rule” and “Global” proxy modes; flexible configuration import methods (link, clipboard, file, QR code); built-in DNS settings and routing rules for fine-grained traffic control; and a network testing tool to check connection status.
2. Download Links for Different Platforms #
Karing currently provides installation packages / download links for the following platforms:
- Android: Download
- Windows: Download
- Mac: Download
- iOS: Download Karing on the App Store
Android, Windows, and Mac users can click the corresponding link to download the installer and follow the prompts to complete installation. iOS users will be redirected to the Karing page on the App Store; simply tap Get, verify your identity, and wait for the installation to finish.
3. Adding a Configuration #
After installation, open the app and return to the home screen, then tap “Add Config”:

Here we take the Wangji Kuaiche (Intercontinental Express) airport as an example.
Register with a QQ email or 163 email address.
Open Wangji Kuaiche Airport #

Choose a Plan and Purchase #
Tap Store to view available plans.
It is recommended to select an unlimited-time plan for better value.

Get the Subscription Link #
Tap Usage Tutorial → iOS → Subscription → Copy Subscription Link.

You will then see a secondary menu listing “Get Traffic”, “Usage Tutorial”, “FAQ”, “Common Rule Sets”, followed by several import methods: “Add Config Link”, “Import from Clipboard”, “Import Config File”, “Scan QR Code”, “Custom”, and at the bottom “Backup & Sync”:

These import methods suit different scenarios: use “Add Config Link” if you have a configuration URL; choose “Import from Clipboard” if the config is already copied; select “Import Config File” for a local file; use “Scan QR Code” for a QR code; or pick “Custom” to enter parameters manually. Taking the most common “Add Config Link” as an example, you will see options such as UserAgent, Filter, Keep Airport/Routing Rules, Download Channel, Update Interval, Auto Disconnect Latency Detection, etc., with a text box for the configuration link at the bottom:

Paste the subscription link you obtained into the text box at the bottom, confirm, and save. The app will fetch the configuration via the link and add it to the “My Configs” list.
4. Managing Added Configurations #
After a successful addition, return to the “My Configs” page to see the record. Below the title you will find the addition date and traffic usage; the icons on the right correspond to Update, Share, Edit, Quick Connect, and other actions:

If multiple configurations have been added, the “My Configs” list displays them in order. Each row is labeled with the corresponding protocol type (e.g., SS) on the right for easy distinction and management:

5. Selecting a Server #
Tap a configuration to enter the “Select Server” page. At the top is the “Auto Select” option (with current latency test results shown below). You can also expand the “Custom Auto Select” group or manually choose a specific server from the list below:

If you are unfamiliar with the specific routes, simply use the top “Auto Select” — the app will automatically pick a relatively suitable connection based on latency. To specify manually, just tap the desired row in the list below.
6. Enabling System Proxy and Connecting #
After selecting a server, return to the home screen and pay attention to the “System Proxy” switch in the lower-left corner. When it turns green, the system proxy is enabled:

Once enabled, the red cross icon in the bottom center will change to a green checkmark, indicating that the proxy connection has been successfully established. Traffic and speed statistics will also start updating:

You can now use the internet normally. If the connection fails for a long time, check the status of the selected server or switch to a lower-latency route and reconnect.
7. DNS, Routing Rules & Chained Proxy #
In addition to basic connection features, the Karing home screen provides advanced entries such as “DNS” and “Routing Rules”. DNS settings are mainly used to specify the resolution method and reduce domain resolution leaks to the local network. Routing rules determine which traffic goes through the proxy and which goes direct; the more refined the rules, the smoother the daily experience usually is. For multi-level (chained) proxies, you typically specify a “Front Proxy” or similar field in the advanced options of a configuration so that requests first pass through one proxy layer before being forwarded. This is suitable for experienced users who need finer route control; beginners can simply use the default settings.
8. Downloading Karing on iPhone with a US Apple ID #
If you cannot find Karing in the App Store of your region, it is usually because the Apple ID currently logged in belongs to a region where the app is not available. In this case, you can register a separate US Apple ID, switch to it, and then search and download the app from the App Store. Registering a US Apple ID involves multiple steps of information filling and verification; it is recommended to follow a dedicated registration guide. We will not repeat the detailed steps here.
